William Pope L. Trinket



Very rarely in Kansas City does a work of art offer me an experience and force me to really address an issue. William Pope L.'s  Trinket, on display at the Kansas City Municipal Auditorium in connection with  his show Animal Nationalism at Grand Arts offers this kind of engaging experience. 

Trinket is a huge American Flag flown full mast, propelled by fans, and with lights timed from every direction.  It offers a chance to experience the American flag like never before. It arrives in time for the coming Presidential election. It is something we should all experience, so that we can feel the force of Democracy in America.

It will be on display now until September 12th, 24 hours a day.
